Chef Christopher George, Founder and President

Chris has always been passionate about cooking. Learning to cook in his grandmother's kitchen, he worked various roles in the food industry, from cooking, to bartending, to waiting tables, and eventually catering for friends and businesses in the Dallas Farmers Market. Chris volunteered with the North Texas Food Bank, serving as a Chef Instructor with the Cooking Matters program for 14 years. During this time, he received the Tom Black Volunteer of the Year Award, and was inducted into the Cooking Matters Hall of Fame. Food insecurity is an issue close to Chris's heart, with him having grown up experiencing food insecurity himself. In 2026, he started Kind Cooking, with the mission to bring healthy cooking and budgeting skills, and other help with food insecurity, to more people in the North Dallas community.

What We Do

Kind Cooking runs programs that connect food, people, and purpose. Here's how we put kindness into action.

Cooking Education

Our hands-on cooking workshops teach practical kitchen skills to individuals and families, with a focus on healthy, affordable, nourishing meals. We provide groceries and cooking supplies to participants in our classes. We partner with other North Dallas nonprofits to serve their communities. Contact us if you would like to discuss an opportunity.

Food Access

We help provide additional food to those who need it most, partnering with food banks and nonprofits across our community, with a focus on emergency food bags and holiday meals. Contact us if you are a nonprofit interested in receiving food. If you are a community member looking to help, please check out how to get involved.
